DNR Fisheries Newsletter.
Thought the LSCN groups would enjoy a short newsletter about what kind of work the Lake Erie Management Unit has been doing in Southeastern Michigan. This is their second newsletter and I think they deserve alot of credit for trying to keep us all up to date and informed.
I hope you enjoy the read.

There are still Great Lakes Cruise raffle tickets available from Sgt. Bobbi Jo Craft at the Marine Division office on South River for those of you looking for last minute stocking stuffers. She is also selling the FOP Harley Tickets. Both are reasonably priced and for a good cause.

Great Lakes Cruise on the M/V Manistee Raffle $5.00
FOP Harley raffle $20.00

Great Lakes Freighter Cruise Raffle.
To anyone interested:
The Great Lakes Captain's Association and the International Shipmasters Lodge 23 are selling raffle tickets for a cruise on the Lower Lakes Shipping vessel Manistee, during the 2010 shipping season. 100% of the proceeds go to the Great Lakes Captain's Association's Scholarship Fund, which awards a scholarship to a Great Lakes Maritime Academy cadet annually.
For more details you can see the rules at Freighter Frank's website below.
http://freighterfrank.com/entry%20page.html
Click on the "Win a trip on a Great Lakes Freighter" link, then click on the Twin Sault Lodge #23 (third one down) foe the listing.
These tickets are selling for $5.00, and would make great gifts too. If you purchase tickets to give as gifts, you must put the recipients name on the ticket as they are not transferrable.
The drawing is January 13th in Traverse City, winner does not need to be present (I'll be there).
If there is enough interest in this I will get more tickets and bring them to the next LSCN get together.
For more information on the Great Lakes Captain's Association go to http://www.glca.info

Thanks for your time.

Jack

Harrison Township DNR Station News Item.
Note to all of the deer hunters on LSCN. The Lake St. Clair Fisheries Station will only be open for deer checks November 15th-25th and again on November 30th. These are the only days we will be checking deer, and giving out patches.

So before November 15th and after November 30th your deer heads will have to be checked in at a OSC, the closest to Harrison Twp. is Southfield.

Please see the following press releases.
