California -- Cutting Edge

How is that California is way out on the cutting edge of leftist ideals, AND totally bankrupt? Is this a case of what little detail was missed in all that great top-down planning, or the inevitability of doing what simply cannot/has not/will not work?

Is it strictly a coincidence that nearly every State has serious budget problems, which are more or less proportional to their "California-like" ways???

Just how compassionate is it to leave nothing but debt and uncertainty to future generations? Is that what previous generations left the current one?
