I'm a new boater on Lake St. Clair and I'm having trouble finding a list of places where I can tie up and eat. I know where the Tin Fish is, and I've seen the ads for Jack's. Even been to Riverside Market. But I gotta believe there are more places where I can get supper when I'm out on the lake. Any suguestions would be great.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Well, alot of the cool places are now gone, like Lago's, Bumper's, and Garwoods..

but there are a few out there still:

The Raft
Sandbar
Tinfish
Crews Inn
Captains Landing
Browns
Beach Grill
Jacks
Heres an idea where they are

Attached File  FOOD_CHART.JPG ( 47.45K ) Number of downloads: 131

and heres some close ups:

These 2 are down on the Nautical Mile in St Clair Shores, and both have the same entrance
Attached File  2.jpg ( 74.14K ) Number of downloads: 139

These 2 are down the Clinton River. Captains is an easy 1 1/2 hr ride down, but the food is great, and you can hit the Mt Clemens nightlife
Attached File  3.jpg ( 87.74K ) Number of downloads: 113

Gotta hit the Bouvier Bay here, but you can relax in Muchies bay for the day, and get dinner before you leave. i do here the RAFT is a little skinny getting in by boat
Attached File  4.jpg ( 61.06K ) Number of downloads: 119

Deckers is right inside the N Channel, while Browns in in the Middle Channel
Attached File  5.JPG ( 57.84K ) Number of downloads: 60

Here are some websites:

Crews Inn

Beach Grill

Jacks

Tinfish

Captains Landing

Sandbar

Hope this helps!!! wink.gif

and welcome to the site !!!

Here is a handy chart that someone put together that might help you get to know the lake.

I have a flip book of the charts of the lake, and I have Chart Navigator and all the raster charts of the lake too. But thanks for the info.

Wow, excellent post Shorgasm!
We like the Canadian restaurants, too!
Lilly Kazilly's at mouth of the Detroit River.
Sandbar in Puce.
Lighthouse Inn and Spooters at the mouth of the Thames.
There are also two casual restaurants in Mitchell's Bay.
Belle River has a Greek restaurant at the marina.
Love the beer over there!

I don't know what, if any, procedure there is for visiting a Canadian restaurant from the water. Don't imagine they have customs folks there to take declarations. biggrin.gif

Ahh Yes, i forgot about the Canadian places. i dont know them all, but here is where i have been...

Oh, and you have to call in still, before you even get set up. tie up, and make the phone call then procede.
they make it easy with phones there for you (as it must be from a land line)

Agreed this is very helpful information for newbies like me. I wonder if a map or smillar info to what Shorgasm provided couldn't find it's way to a link off the main page for LSCN.

Thanks again for the info. Gonna go pray for decent weather this weekend.....

Don't forget Sinbad's on the Detroit River (next to the Roostertail), or The Capri on the canal behind Sassy's, or Cheers on the canal behind Lyle's Marine...
Sinbad's is THE BEST for food and drinks on the water!!!!

This certainly is a great post with lots of info! I'll think about a good way to make this content part of a new link on the site. Thanks Mike!

As soon as you get to the restaurant, call in. They have dedicated phones for this procedure. Have your MC numbers available, as well as the birthdates of the people on your boat. They'll ask about alcohol, cigarettes and firearms (firearms are a big no-no in Canada). Tell the truth. If you have six cases of beer, three bottles of Captains and four cartons of Kools, tell them. It's when you're vague and say, "bar stock" that you get in trouble. And if it's a busy weekend, yes, they'll have customs folks there to check.

Don't let this deter you, though. The process is pretty painless.
