Friday 8/14 Thanks Dave! Volunteerism at it's best!

Well we made some great progress at the lights over the last two days. Thursday evening we took a mulching mower to the rear light and went over everything 3 times. It looks like a lawn now, it turned out really well. We also scrubbed the place up and cleaned the windows etc. I think we also have a plan for the placement of the 3 blocks that are laying around. I put a log book out there for people to sign and keep track of activities too.

Today we spent the whole day at the front light. We cut down a good percentage of the brush and cleared the way into the light. We shoveled all of the poop off of the second level, and now we just have level three to clean. We also installed cleats which will make it much easier to access. I also dove the perimeter of the seawall and started the process of searching the area for obstructions and hopefully one day I will locate the missing lantern room parts. My neighbors Dean and Mark West have become quite an asset, they helped me on Thursday and today as well. We accomplished a lot and had a really great day.
