Q: What did the fish say when he hit the concrete wall?

A: DAMN!

Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll spend all day in a boat drinking beer.

Rods Bent...Lines Screaming!!!

Fast Action
Started out early for topwater and caught 22 bucketmouths north of the Selfridge launch in 4 ft of water in about two hours using a perch colored Jitterbug. Most fish in the 1-2 lb range. Headed to the salt and landed 16 smallies on lipless and shallow diving cranks before heading in. 7 fow just above the weeds was the ticket, slower steady retrieval did better than fast or jerky movements. Water was very clear by the salt. Most smallies were in the 2-3 lb range with one that looked bigger than the others throwing the lure with a huge leap and head shake. The big ones always get away.

Action was fast and furious when you found the weeds. Also landed a 6 lb shithead and a gar pike. Trolling boat next to me was hootin and hollerin about a pretty big musky. Man were they happy.

Open Seat Monday
If anyone wants to join me in the morning to early afternoon for some fishing, shoot me a PM. I'm starting out around 6:30 for the morning topwater bite, casting the shallower water for a few hours for largemouth and mixed bag action, then moving to some deeper musky areas to cast for the elusive, "fish of a thousand (or less) casts."

Just an FYI - no smoking on my boat smile.gif

Open Seat Today
I'm gonna shower, get ready, and head to the launch at Selfridge. Probably get there around 9:30 and fish for five or six hours. If anyone wants to join me, shoot me a PM.
