Does anyone have information on the ice thickness in the Anchor Bay area? I would like to take my quad tomorrow if its thick enough.

I was at Fair haven DNR access site on Wed and the ice was about six to seven inches and there were bikes and sleds all over.

Ice was 7-8" out a half mile plus two days ago north of Brandenberg. There were sleds and a small lightweight airplane was landing and taking off lol

Ya, I saw that plane at Fair haven and he buzzed quite low a couple of times.

UPDATE........Thanks to all for the info. The perch were slow to get in the bucket today. I landed a 24" pike just before calling it quits at noon.

First off, welcome to the site! That's a pretty nice fat pike you got. Just wondering if that was on a small rod or a tip up?

Thanks for the warm welcome iggy. No tip up, I had a small pink spoon on my rod loaded with a minnow. It hit like a race car and then all I felt was dead weight....... I thought Jimmy Hoffa was on the other end. After an intense 30 seconds it was laying on the ice. I have tried every recipe under the sun for pike, but I just don't like the taste. We got a couple pics then I walked it about 50 yards from my hole and set it free. I am open to some good pike recipes if anyone wants to share. FYI the closest I have got to a good taste is boiling the fillet -- cut into cubes-- in 7-UP. Dipped in butter its kind of a poor-mans crab meat.

Thanks Bucketsquatter, I will be hang'in on the site more often. It may have been a little over 24 but hey I'm new to the site.....I didn't want to seem like a "fish-tail" kind of guy. Posted Image
