Found four inches of new ice behind my moms house in her canal today! I went on and plugged a few holes and its safe for tomorrow at least. I can't wait to get out there and make a report after. There's also ice at Brandenberg and Cotton but I doubt its anywhere near four inches. I'm not giving up on this ice season yet LOL

Behind Schmid Marina, it is kinda soft but it held me and my brother yesterday so I'm giving it a shot in a little bit here. My plan all week was to toss my inflatable in but every place I was going to launch it at is iced over again, may as well ice fish it!

If we break thru its only four foot of water and we'll be ten foot from my moms house.. there was ice as far down the canal as I could see but I didn't try much further than where I got on

You go Pro! Hope you hit the mutha lode!
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles!

fyi
I ice fished yesterday on 6 inches plus on a canal in SCS. Fishing was lousy, but the ice was fine. Temps yesterday AM were around 17, and this morning it was only 20. Ice isn't done, just the ice fishermen are...
If you can access, there's several marinas, cuts, etc that never got "blown out" and last weekends slush has hardened up. It's just getting to them that's the problem.

Good luck, be safe.

If it wasnt for the 3-4 day warm up and that rain, we would still be ice fishing on the lake.

Best day of my life! Must've caught over 300 fish, kept 58 perch, 77 gills and 12 crappies. Caught everything in there but pike. Got Rockies, largemouthes, big shad.. everything! Fished from 10am til 8pm and it never let up. Never took my heavy metal tungsten off and got em all on spikes.
