Just a Jack Daniels factoid to pass! All the 750ml bottles on the wall is what they make out of a barrel of four year old Jack Daniels. Enjoy.

There aren't any strangers out there, only friends we haven't met yet...

I didn't count the bottles, but there are 5 fifths in a gallon (imagine that) and 31 gallons in a barrel ... so I'd say 155. Final answer. Scott.

This site: Whiskey Barrels and More says the barrel is 53 gallons. There are 3.785 liters in a gallon and 1000 milliliters in a liter, so 53 gallons is equal to 200,605 milliliters. Dividing 200,605 by 750 (bottle size) gives 267.5 bottles per barrel. wink.gif

It isn't premarital sex, if you have no intention of getting married.

If your not busy getting wasted...you day is !!!!

I always thought a fifth was 1/5 of a gallon. These days it is 750ml.

Did a search and I am correct. .20 (1/5th) of a gallon = 25.6 oz.

750ml = 25.3 oz.

So you question (assuming the barrel is indeed 53 gallons) is:

53gal x 5 = 265 TRUE fifths.

53gal = 6784oz. divided by 25.3 = 268.14 750ml bottles.

I confirmed the 53 gallons (at least it was reported by the Seattle Times). They are used by the Jack Daniel's distillery and are produced by Brown-Foreman in Louisville, KY.
