I believe you're talking about the Sugarbush Tavern - it's the only place (literally) at 21 & Sugarbush... never had their perch but their food is generally good. I had some excellent perch at the Engine House on Cass in Mt. Clemens - but it wasn't all you can eat and was a daily special - was about the best I ever tasted. Now I'm hungry for perch too! lol

Not AYCE, but Ocean Breeze in Shelby Twp. has real perch on friday for $11.35. You get 8-10 fillets (Ususally 9) along with choice of soup, salad or coleslaw and choice of potato. I always leave full and it is delicious. Its on their special page as "pan fried perch"

Be careful of AYCE perch. Many many times it is zander. Tastes almost the same but its cheaper to buy. The same with walleye. I have caught more than a few places with zander and not walleye.

A place near my house advertises AYCE perch for $12.99. Before ordering, I asked the waitress to find out if it was imported or our perch from Michigan. She came back and said it was imported (zander)

I read in a fishing guide once that Sheepshead are often marketed as "Lake Perch" too.

Yes, very true, it can be called pike perch too amongst many other names in the box, and it does not remotely taste the same!! I have thrown it out the door into the US Food, Euclid, Superrior, or other purveyors trucks many times!! It is JUNK!!!

One place I asked to check, said the box read "pike-perch (zander) Turkey". Menu called for "hand breaded walleye filets". Feel it to be fraud.
