Last year we did a haunted house Big Red Bus trip and everyone had a blast. I thought maybe we could try something different and actually go on a ghost hunt! There is a web site that list all of the haunted places in Michigan,Shadowlands haunted places

I have copied a few of the closer, more interesting ones below. Maybe we can hit one of the haunted houses in the area and then try a few of these real haunted places. Could be a lot of fun, if not it is an excuse to drink and party on the Big Red Bus.
Anybody up for it?

1) Algonac - Marrow Road - the story behind the road is a woman went out in the middle of the night to find her toddler that had somehow got out alone in the winter they both froze to death, it is a fact that if you park on the bridge at midnight and honk your horn three times she will appear and see if you have her baby. She is also said to be wearing a white blood covered gown carrying her dead baby. Also a green light will chase people away. unsure.gif

2) Macomb Twp - Insane asylum - On 24 mile and Card road there is a insane asylum in the woods that is haunted. It was built in 1929 and closed down in the early 80's. If you are to go there late at night you can hear screams and glass breaking in the rooms next to you if you enter. Also on the second floor there is light on in the window that is always on and you can see a shadow of a person in a straight jacket in the second floor window. wacko.gif

3) New Baltimore - Hathaway House - This house use to be an insane asylum. Many people are said to have killed themselves while there. At night you can see such called ghost in the windows. When inside you hear voices. Also if you have lights they may flicker in the presents of a so-called ghost. One girl is said of killing herself in the very top floor(bell tower).

4) Roseville - Dooley Elementary - It is said that a little girl playing on the slide was accidentally hung when the drawstring on her coat got caught at the top of the slide. Sometimes at night you can see her running up the slide. If you stop and get out she will sometimes appear to you and try to follow you out.

5) Roseville - Kaiser Elementary - There was a custodian who was killed there and haunts the park at night. Only the bravest dare to go there. One 15 Year old girl went there in June and rumor is she is missing.

Sounds really creepy and spooky. I'm sure I'd be up for the party on the bus, but then I'd come home and have nightmares about these kinds of FREAKS... ph34r.gif blink.gif biggrin.gif

Clinton Township - Rudgate Manufactured Home Park - During The Night Here, You Can See Ghosts Of People who were killed by the train. And when you walk around the park at night you can see black figures in the wood line at the back of the park. And You Can Also See Ghosts Of Animals. Legend is that this park was built on old cemetery that was there in the 1800's.

yeah right..... my sister lives there and i havent seen a damn thing accept CT Police.
a real haunted spot is on Richmond, on Big Hand, called The House. great story with that one.
then, less the 2 miles away, is The Bridge, another great one.
im sure if the BRB showed up at either one the "ghosts" would split biggrin.gif
Heaven is not puffy clouds and angels with harps.
It's teak and varnish and fiberglass.
Passion and pride.
It's not a place you go when life is over.
It's where life begins.
Heaven is real and it's now.
And it's measured in feet along the waterline...

I accept my dog's admiration as conclusive evidence that I am wonderful.

now this one would be worth going to....

Utica - Haunted Slaughter House - An old abandoned slaughter house that has been boarded up and a barbed wire fence has been erected around it. If you get past the fence and though a broken loading door you can see blood stains and bones on floor, also you hear voices and pigs squealing from rooms in the back and eerie noises from the offices up stairs. Watch out for bums, word is they will throw shoes at you. ohmy.gif

If you want to do a ghost hunting trip you should consider a BRB trip to Ohio and stay overnight in the old prison where they filmed the Shawshank Redemption. They let you spend the night with flashlights and pretty much wander around the facility. they say it is totally haunted!! I'd be up for that!!
