Atmospheric conditions have been right the last couple of days to see great distances.

The Coast Guard got a lot of calls from people living along the south shore of Lake Erie regarding flashing red lights. Turns out they were seeing lights from clear across the lake in Canada from antenna and windmills.

I always assumed they were the channel lights across the lake?
On very clear nights I have picked up lights and some glow of Canada on at it's widest point but can't imagine seeing any more.

Not sure if you guys scrolled down to the comments.. someone posted this picture. It was taken from the south side of Erie (in Lorain), but the red lights are in Canada.

Not as annoying as being in an airplane and running into one or 100 windmills...
You hate boats like mine.... until you ride in one
