I think it will be a fight to see who gets Gertrude. I believe I will pass. Paddling her all day would be exhausting.

Tooks a couple of breaks today and did a quick walk around the show. Renewed our Boat US membership. We scoped out the areas and the boats that we want to go back and look at. I can't wait for next weekend to go back and get a boating fix.

Didn't seem to be as many Jet Skis. Still alot of pontoon boats. Those things are crazy. I'm still shaking my head on the pontoon that had a price of $62,000. I guess it sounds crazy to me because I would rather spend that on a cruiser. Lots of ski boats and fishing boats.

I did go on one boat to check it out. It was a 30ish foot Back Cove. Fishing boat, diesel engines, bow thruster and stern thruster. Was walking by to get a drink. It made me curious enough to want to check it out. Nice walk around and cockpit area but I am spoiled by more room down below in the cabin on a cruiser.

Some nice size cruisers to scope out next week too. I can't wait. The show seems to be on an upswing this year and any boating fix is a good fix.

I'm sure Mike could figure out how to get a 25HP outboard on the back of that!

Not to hurt Gertrude's feelings but I'm thinking a 50HP would be more in order.

I want to ask the folks selling the $62k pontoon boat if the pontoons are made of titanium, or it has it's own nuclear power plant because it didn't look all that special compared to the pontoons for $10k. Even the pontoon with the upper deck and slide was less money.

+1 on the human hamster balls. But we'd need the XL size that are rated for 300lbs.

Check out the Monterey 34 cruiser. I don't know much about the quality of Monterey boats, but that was by far my favorite cruiser at the show. It was fully loaded and had a well thought out layout and amenities including a spacious engine room.

Not by phone. Posted on facebook. The one is blurry. I must have moved. The phone camera is slow and I probably thought it was done.

This was Mike's first choice for you.

walked the show yesterday. I liked the layout this year better than in the past. My favorite boat from the show was the new SeaRay 350. Was really nice seeing so many familiar faces too. Met Rob at the LSCN booth. He looked ready to "call it a week". I know how he feels after a week of boat show madness.

I will have to say the one Tiki Bar was a joke. They were out of Jack Daniels when we arrived. Bummer. We settled for another Bourbon. $6.50 for a 3oz. drink. I miss the Appleton Bar of boat show's past. Other than that, was a good day in the D. Ate at Armando's Mexican restaurant afterward. Good stuff.

Now bring on spring. Let's go boating. I am more than ready.

There aren't any strangers out there, only friends we haven't met yet...
