Amazing to think that the B-52 has been flying for 60 years and is still a frontline aircraft.
Awesome to see. Saw a couple coming in off Lake Huron to land at Wurtsmith back when that base was still operational.

Seattle PI: Boeing B-52 celebrates 60 years in the air

There are the naysayers who can find nothing else to say other than that these are massive machines of death.

Uh, isn't that what a "bomber" is suppposed to be? Just glad they are ours.

Loved Wings. Have a ton of them on VHS...

March 1980, hitching a ride to Australia to have drinks on the reef and do a little Marlin fishing. Bumped into this guy at the gas station over the South Pacific, first B-52 Flight to Australia.

Awesome pictures.

Two of my teachers -- one in junior high (a USAF major), one in high school (USAF colonel) -- flew KC-135s during the Vietnam era. They had neat, scary and sad stories, for sure.
