I got a chance to sneak out for about an hour last night right before dark. My 14 year old step-daughter and I fished the shore at Stony Creek near the south dam. We were casting senkos when my step-daughter started screaming she caught one. She gets it in just a little one, probably 7". Though she's very excited because it's the first fish she caught on her own. About 5 minutes later she's screaming that she has another one. However, this time I am not sure she does because I don't see the line moving it's just staying down. However, she continues to fight like there's something there. By the time she's only a few feet from shore now I do see the line making quick jolts in different directions. I finally see the fish and it is a really big largemouth. Finally, she gets it near the shore so I can grab it by the mouth. Awesome largemouth! Talk about getting a 14 year old girl hooked on fishing.Attached File  538521_4101868547694_835735336_n1.jpg (67.73K)

It's bad luck to be superstitious.

No need to question my sanity. I fish for muskies. That should serve as proof of insanity...

How's your fishing season been Mike? I don't see you post many reports anymore, I miss reading them. I don't get out very often, but I do have a trip planned with Art Ferguson July 1st. I can't wait for the chance to fish with a bass pro. I am hopeful I can get out with you later this summer. Right now we are getting my place ready to put on the market. Take care.

She was deathly afraid to hold it stcsteve even including the little bass.

How big was that LM. If its bigger than 19" then I need to rethink my fishing life.Being outfished by a 14yr old girl. Biggest LM that I've caught so far out of stoney was 19 1/4". Caught close to 10 18-19" but cant seem to get one in the 20+". Anyways congrats on the fish.

River Rat,
Between 19 and 20 inches. I haven't caught many largemouth bigger than that at Stony either. I am calling it beginners luck.
