Topics I've Started
10 April 2014 - 12:29 PMI ordered an extended swim platform from Mountain Marine out of Denver, CO. KellyAnn was great to work with and I got to spec a platform to the exact size I wanted. The new platform is 5ft overall with 4ft that's useable, which will be perfect to keep the dinghy on and I wont have the take the motor on and off anymore.
I looked at the swimplatforms.com platform but It was too small with less than 3ft of useable space
Its awesome and I think we will enjoy the boat even more now
01 April 2014 - 09:13 PMLSCN 2014 Metro Spring Overnighter!
Well its that time of the year
This event will be held at Metro Beach in the Shore (Rear)Marina on May 17-18
On the 18th we will all pick a bay and head out on the lake to raft off for the day
I hope to see everyone
01 October 2013 - 08:36 AMA few of us are planing one more overnight before the boats come out of the water
We will be going to Kean's Marina on the Detroit River October 11-13
I would like to take the shuttle and get some food at Sindbad's for dinner and I know some people are talking about going to a wings game downtown
if you are interested let me know,
05 September 2013 - 07:58 AMFirst off let me say that I love the marina itself, But from January to now I have talked to 4 different people because it seems the management changes monthly
This past winter I negotiated a price and got a well around the area where I wanted... Perfect.
I payed off the well and about 2 weeks before the boat was set to go in the water I get a call saying that I should have not been given any money off the set price and I now owe the difference, also the person I talked to before is no longer an employee.
A few calls later Beacon reluctantly agreed to honor the price. Summer was great in the marina other then some WIFI issues.
But yesterday I get a letter in the mail saying Beacon has shortened its season, it was from April 1st through November 1st now its May 1st through October 15th and in order to avoid a rate increase and keep your well you must put down a $500 non refundable deposit by October 1st?
I totally understand the need for a deposit and wanting to find out who is not coming back but the boat is still in the water October 1st and at that time im still paying off winter storage
Also you are shorting the season and if i dont put down a $500 deposit by October 1st you are going to raise my rent
All this coupled with the gas dock having the most expensive gas on the lake and no discount program for marina members like other places I think im going to do some marina shopping before I plop down $500 for Beacon in the next few weeks
So my question for all of you is
What do you think of Beacons new changes?
Have you had any experiences like this in other marinas?
What marina are you at and how do you like it?
04 September 2013 - 05:52 PMWell its time to start posting some of the videos from this season
I'm going to save most of them for winter but i wanted to get a head start
