August 2005 Edition
"Lake Norman is Going Down!"

Welcome!
For those of you are receiving this newsletter for the first time, WELCOME ABOARD! We generally send this out quarterly to the thousands of good people who have signed up to receive it in order to find out what's new and exciting in the pages of the Lake St. Clair Network. With a few major events coming up in the next few weeks, we thought it would be a good time to make an exception and send out an August edition as well!

As always, we will continue to make improvements and add content as long as you keep telling us how we can improve. Our lines of communication are always open, so please take the time to fill out our Suggestions Form.

We hope to see all of you out on the lake in the coming months! Thanks again for your support!

The 2nd Annual Lake St. Clair Raft for Charity is finally here!
If you missed last year's Charity Raft, then you missed the best party of the summer on our beloved lake! Thanks to the many long hours spent by the dedicated individuals who organized the event, it went off without a hitch, as thousands of boats came together in an attempt to break the Guiness World Record for the most boats rafted together in succession.

Unfortunately, the overwhelming number of boats was just too much for the limited group of volunteers to raft together in time to break the record currently held by our friends from Lake Norman in North Carolina. Since last year's attempt, we have established a "friendly rivalry" with Lake Norman, with both sides showing great respect and appreciation for each other, while keeping the trash-talking alive and healthy! Click HERE to read the great article written by Heather Cleevely about last year's event on the LKNfun website.

This year's event is scheduled for Saturday, August 13th with a rain-day scheduled for the 14th. To find out more information about this monumental day, click HERE.

New LSCN Feature! LakeStClairKiteboarding.com!

Have you ever wondered what those people that you've seen out on the lake being pulled across the water by a kite the size of a Suburban were doing?

So have we!

So we did a little research and found out that what they are doing is experiencing the new and extremely "Rush-Inducing" sport of Kiteboarding.

Kiteboarding is a sport that can be done both on land in the winter and on the water in the summer. It has slowly started to find a following around the Lake St. Clair region, and we wanted to be the first to introduce all of our LSCN Members to this fantastic sport.

We've partnered with a local organization to bring you the best resource for Kiteboarding information anywhere on the web. Welcome to LakeStClairKiteboarding.com!

Want to find out what it's all about? Click HERE and hang on tight!

PLEASE be sure to seek proper instruction before attempting Kiteboarding! Below are three local instructors if you are interested in more information regarding the sport.
