Now in its third year, the charity raft-off is quickly becoming the best party of the summer on our beloved lake! Thanks to the many long hours spent by the dedicated individuals who organize this event, we expect another great day of fun in the sun as we try once again to topple the world record currently held by our friends from Lake Norman.

SOSCL Update

Work at the rear light continues and the structure looks better each week.
Some of the castings are taking more time than expected and we hope to have them delivered in about two weeks time for installation.

Except for the decorative railing inserts the lantern room is finished. There is much work involved installing the steps that have been broken out and the main door and two windows must be constructed yet to replace the temporary inserts. More fill inside the seawall is to be added soon to be ready for the paver work. We hope to obtain a donation of the seawall railings for safety and looks. We are stealing funds from the repointing to do other necessary work but that will be last.
Perhaps we will be able to have visitors by next season when all aspects of the safety items are satisfied according to our liability insurance. If you see people on the island it will be SOS officers and contractors wearing hard hats.
