Well fishermen, It is time for the LSCN.NET Walleye Tournament again.
There have been numerous reports of a huge year for walleye this year with possible record catches. It should prove to be an exciting contest this year. This tournament has grown each and every time we have ran it. The first year we had two, because the first one was so much fun.
The winners of Tourney #1 (Spring of 2006) was myself Muskeye and my son spierski0313.
The winners of Tourney #2 (Summer of 2006) was Spur and Brother of Spur.
The current title holders and winner of Tourney #3 (Spring of 2007) none other than Scubajay and Da Plug.
I believe that at least the previosly mentioned six fishermen will be present for this years Tourney. And by the previous posts I have read we should have a bigger turnout than last year so start posting your teams and boat names and let the trash talking begin. Hopefully, one of our fine moderators can pin this to the top for me for better exposure.
The rules will be the same as the other Tourney's and are listed as follows...
*** The Tourney will be from dawn till 12:00 noon.
*** Launch or check-in at 6:00am at the Algonac DNR launch just upriver from the Harsen's Island Ferry.
*** $10 per man $20 per boat
*** 25% to the heaviest fish
*** 75% to the most team weight
*** Six fish per boat at the weigh in
*** The fish must be alive (or extremely fresh)
*** The judges are Spur and Muskeye
Very simple rules and a very inexpensive entry fee for a great deal of fun. The jiggin bite should be in full swing, the handliners will put up some huge numbers and bottom bouncers may even get in some work by then. None the less, it will be a great day on the water.
