I see in thetimeshearld.com Port huron news paper the DNR are planting Browns....Cool just like the old days when you could go to the mouth of the black and catch browns.....

My buddy was there on sat. 28th and he caught one that was 8.9 lbs.

On a perch rig with minnows. It was his only bite though.....

We used to do fantastic on the browns in Pt. Sanilac harbor in the fall. A guy I worked with turned me on to that, I was always there for the salmon, but he showed me a few ways to actually target the browns more than the kings. They're still out there in Lake Huron, as are the salmon, just a bit smaller the last 5 years or so. Great to know the DNR is planting a few though.

I know this has been asked a million times over the years, but why don't they plant bait fish back into southern Huron? Try to build the salmon population back up.

oh yea soooo poor!

Think about what you would catch in the St. Clair River this time of year with a 4 to 6 inch silver spoon...baby brown trout= Walleye fodder.

the salmon were actually planted to eat the alewife because they were an exotic specie from ballasts, just like gobies.
