The day before Thanksgiving I left work early to get things done. As soon as I pull out of our complex, my Jeep just slowly and quietly dies. I wait five minutes and it starts back up only to die a minute later again. Start it again and I am a goin'. The battery light is on every time for a few minutes once it starts.

I call the Jeep dealership they say bring it in, they say it is the oxygen sensor, I wait three hours, the fix it. Not a problem for a week until today.

I am ready to go pick up my antibiotics from my brother, STUPID COLD! I back my car out of the driveway, go to put it in drive and DEAD!

Start it up, pull into the driveway, then put it in reverse, get to the end of the driveway, put it in drive and DEAD!

Stupid Stupid Jeep! I hate it! Only had it for TWO MONTHS! BRAND NEW!!!!!!!!!!!

As far as I am concerned CHRYSLER OWES ME A GOSH DARN NEW CAR!!!!!

I don't drive it to the bar at night.....
That's how much I love it

The guys at work said I'm too little to drive such a big red truck

You do not!
You were driving the wagon when I was over before.

Do you have to crawl into it like my truck??

Ground effects? Are you sure it's a TRUCK?

Yep~It's a truck~a chick truck~ here is a pic of one similar to mine. Take away that chrome fuel door and add the red one, add hood scoops and remove the black step and ad the chrome and it's mine

Yeah, I think somebody needs a new digital camera for Christmas! Are you listening, Santa 3crabs.

Now before Topic Police busts my chops, sorry to hear about your luck with the Jeep, Boss. I don't want to start a Big 3 war, but I always want to warn people when they are about to buy a Chrysler, not to do it. I've heard too many stories like yours. The majority of them are with the Cherokee's, and most were a few years ago, so I thought maybe things had gotten better. Overall, I still think it's hit and miss... any automaker can make lemon... but it still does seem to be predominantly a Chrysler thing.

BTW, puppetshow did you get your Durango fixed?

I'm stuck at home now - on a Friday night due to car problems. Tattoo Todd has "Uncle Jessie" our truck
or as our girls call it "The Hillbilly Truck" Sure it's ugly, some would call it an eyesore, mainley do to the fact of it's lovely shade of Primer however it runs an tows our boat. Never had a problem with it other then the shocked
looks I get when I climb out of it. It's my Bonneville that
died it gets resistated then quickley slips back into it's coma. Anyway it really sucks being stuck at home with out a vehicle. I feel trapped. However I expect this out of my cars their old and used/abused (and CBJ is the mechanic) However I would be steaming if I spent the money on something new and had problems.
Good luck Boss!

not a mechanic (but I play one one the internet) but a O2 sensor causing those problems, sounds like an excuse or lack of finding the real problem (which is obvious cause it's still broke)

isn't o2 sensor part of the environmental package and really doesn't affect the performance (or am i wrong?), i always though it was a dummy light that you pay to basically get turned off, i had a toyota lease and about 3 months into a 2 year lease the o2 light came on, never had it checked (too busy), never had a problem with it

Goose is correct. a bad O2 sensor can cause poor gas mileage rough engine and maybe some drivability problems but it should not cause the vehicle to be undividable or quit running all together.

Goose, BINGO~I even knew that when I read her problem~Either they are bsin' her or they have lousy mechanics at her dealership.

Warden, at least you have a sense of humor about it. Does suck though.....that is why I ended up buying a new vehicle myself. Got tired of the bs......we'll have to compare hillbilly trucks a day though....Rich won't part with his and it's older than the hills~My bro had to weld new metal to the floor just so we could keep driving it~She's called "The Sanford"

Capt'n Mike, it can happen with any make I think....My sis in law has Pontiac horror stories that would take to long to explain.....Here is a old post on ours: The Impala

Still, old or new it stinks when your wheels break down <_< no matter who made it. Though, it sucks even more when it's new. Boss, if you need help or advice, we are here for you. Best of luck with resolving it quickly.
