Great engine had a similar one on my inflatable when I was a kid, the thing always ran like a top . . .

I'm in the motion of purchasing a new zodiac with a 8hp Evinrude, which would be Johnson's little brother, great motors!

Well, he's right in the ad that's it's a "short shaft" on that Johnson. Not much power and a short shaft - I don't think I'd be putting that out on the internet for everyone to see.

Thanks for looking

My wife just surprised me with the purchase of a used Dinghy, now I need a motor but it's only rated to 6 HP???? Would 8 be too much?

Unless things have changed if the boat is rated for 6HP it is illegal to use an engine larger than the rated power. Same as the legal capacity for the boat. The weight and HP capacity should be on the boat and is a legal limitation.

Yes it would be. You should immediately deliver the dinghy to Beacon Cove and give it to me and not put yourself at any further risk.

I just want to know where he goes to garage sales. Around my house it's nothing but old exercise equipment and baby clothes with an occasional 20 year TV.

It was a friend of my wife who stopped by a garage sale in Lake Orion, she called my wife and made the guy hold onto the dinghy until my wife could get there and pick it up. And for only $50! That's the kind of deal you just can't walk away from.
