You know, I actually caught one last season that had all of the symptoms described. If i ever catch a fish with this desease, should I release it? (thats what I did). Or should I take it on shore and dispose of it? At that time I had no clue the DNR wanted them for testing.

Last year they had a weekend of collecting samples for testing and may do it again this year. Keep your eye on the MDNR website or here for more info.
