I am getting into Aerosmith mode. Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, miss this band. Saw them twice last year and they Looooooovvvvvee Detroit. Seem to save their best for us. Some Aerosmith memories: First "Hard Rock" band that really woke me up. Toys in the Attic was a revelation for me. Amusing thing-"Sweet Emotion"was my first favorite Aerosmith song realized music could really be sensuous--heard that tune this morning!!!! Saw them with AC/DC opening at Cobo and thought "Hmmm this AC/DC could be big someday. Not being able to talk for about a week last year after DTE and the Joe. Meeting Instigator for the first time at DTE with DawnieDawn, Jewels and seeing Robyn and Blondestreak after about 7 years what a blast.

Kiss memories: Never seen in concert, Had all their albums. Kicked out of Boyscouts (sponsored by Mormon Church) for naming our squad - "The Kiss Squad. We were considered too immoral (imagine that). Dressed as Paul Stanley Freshman Year for Halloween and drove around all night with Varsity Cheerleading team. (they saw me and my brother and picked us up and had no idea I was only 14 hee-hee)

Terrible Ted: Was "God" to me in late High School. Saw with the Cars at Silverdome. Caught a Guitar Pick and drummers towel at Wango Tango concert. Blew my dads Harmon Kardon Speakers out listening to "Hibernation" as loud as it could go. Still have noticeable hearing loss in my left ear thanks to this incident. "Anybody wants to get mellow can just turn around and get the F--k outta here"!!!

Traveler...I am sooooo with you on all of these things. I also have the same memories and stories that ALL fall into things you remember and did. I have a live version of Sweet Emotion that we blasted on Hammer's stereo at Joe's Island. Eddie has the cd if you ever need to hear it. I played it for Pauligan and Manana II while we were driving down the highway...very cool version.
Due to the wedding being so close we are passing up on going. VERY SAD because you and Instigator would be very cool to attend the concert with. So as STEVEN comes out with the scarf wrapped around the microphone and starts belting out Eat the Rich, Toys in the Attic, Sweet Emotion, Dream On...and many more...have one for me please. ENJOY! and be careful. I would say Rock On..... but I hate that term

Yeah Tom, Detroit was a pretty special place to be during the time these bands were going so strong. Have so many other stories from so many other concerts as well. From Ozzy throwing cowguts on the crowd to buddy throwing up in the front row while Donnie Iris was singing Leah standing over him going"Is it ever gonna end?" To winning a banner contest and getting backstage passes to meet AC/DC and Helping Judas Priest load their tour bus. Only 3 nights to sleep before waking up on Friday!! Feel like Christmas is coming!!!

Sorry I'm gonna miss it!!

Aerosmith YES!! Love them.

Kiss is ok but not on my fav list.

Nuge!!!!! I had 1st table center stage at the soaring eagle show 2 years back. My ears just quit ringing.
He is one of my favorites and he is a great guy. I have hunted with him at his cabin for 3 years and leased hunting rights on one of his properties. (It's nice to be trusted!) He has always been more then fair in our business dealings.

You have no idea how kool it is to be in a room of about 10 people and watch Ted do an acoustic set.

Enjoy the show!! I'm sure it will be a blast!

Detroit was and still is a great place for concerts. I have just about ALL of my concert tickets stubs. My best times were Aerosmith, J Giels Band...and Led Zepplin at the Pontiac Silverdome. At the time it was the largest indoor crowd concert with a record setting 90,000 attending. I saw some $hit at that one. There were so many different freaks walking around. It was my first concert. The Zep sounded like crap...but hey who cared during those times....other things made the music sound just fine
When I saw Aerosmith at Cobo...Steven Tyler was still in his drug days and fell on the stage a couple of times during his performance.

Its like Fast Times at Ridgemont High...al over again

Have a blast my friend

I've seen Ted at Whiplash Bash '91 or '92 (depending on if you look at it by the year the concert started or was finished). I'd like to see KISS just for the nostalgia of it, but I have never had an urge to see Aerosmith.

How come it says Saliva and not Ted Nugent though??

Last year in a suite at the Joe. Rocking with my buddy "Evil Mark", Everyone else sitting on their hands in the suite. I yell "come on people this Ain't Billy Joel/Elton John."

I live my life by one simple philosophy. "Never miss a chance to see Aerosmith - Only god knows where you'll be the next time they come around"!!!!!

Never got to see Zep, but did get to see Page/Plant about 5 years back. Was in my purchasing days so I got great tix in the 5th row. They were amazing and I couldn't believe that Robert Plant could still be in his 40's and still look like he belonged on a stage and not a caricature of himself. "Ramble On" absolutely blew me away when I realized that this was as close to seeing Zep as I would ever get!

Ate at Tom's Oyster Bar before last years concert at the Joe. Had a bad oyster and it made me feel like I was tripping or something. Next day I had food poisoning but it was worth it!!

As I said on the "whats up for Friday night thread" I will go to see Aerosmith until dentures are shooting across the stage!!!!

How many bands today have the staying power that Aerosmith has had?? And at 55 years old they can still KICK OUT THE JAMS and take their shirt off without bumming out the entire stadium.

LONG LIVE AEROSMITH.

Rock on.
