Re: Algonac Boat Launch next to Harsens Island Ferry;

Does anybody know if the sand bar between the shore line and the channel has become a beach with the lower water levels this year. I've heard the lake level is down about 9 inches from last year....

Thanks

And changes everyday. Yes the water is low, does it mean you need to sell yourboat and fishing gear? NO!

Just study a map and avoid areas of concern.

As far as your question about the PAS on the N Channel, I dont know. I dont launch there very often. If you do find out, please post back.

This is not the lowest this lake has ever been....

The sand bar runs about the length of the launch site and was about one to two feet underwater last year. Lots of guys that weren't aware of it ran aground with their skag. It's deceiving because the water depth suddenly shallows as you leave the dock and head for the deep water of the river... Obviously, more of a problem for I/Os than O/Bs..... But your correct. lake levels are about midway between the record lows and the long term means.

Thanks
