the area between selfridge and the salt is always hit and miss (like most of the lake this year). You can always find large mouth in the weed(4-8 feet deep) and scattered smallies6-9 feet deep(look for scattered week) and musky. I have however run into a nice area that is holding big smallies consistantly, which has been a nice surprise. I love fishing this area.
I would start with fast crankbaits, drifting and casting until you get bit, then slow down and work and re-work the area. Start where you will. If the wind's out of the north, start by the Salt and drift south. Vice versa from Belle Maer. Put out a draggin' rod with light line and tube or jig. You're going to have to work to locate the fish ... this season has been a test of patience.
