how do i get started and what do i need

I googled lure making and got this as in the first couple of returns:

There is a hand full of lure makers on this site. As previously stated, what do you want to make?

what did your father used to make? rods?

rapalas and lipless crank baits ....and yea my dad was a rod maker

Also look at www.jannsnetcraft.com. They sell blank lures that you can paint and add hooks too.
