[Nitro225Optimax]

I got the bow out this week, getting it re-strung, it needed it, thought I could get one more season out of it, but not worth the risk. I'm heading out to get some practice with my 300winmag this weekend. I cant wait. When Sept 15th gets here, I like to kick things off with hunting grouse and scouting, etc. Hard to believe its just around the corner, a month will fly by.

The meat from my 3 deer from last year are pretty much gone.

Last year I hunted with makowish, somewhere in oakland county ish. We may go north this year, I am not sure yet. Where do you go?

Arenac County. Plenty of deer up there.

I'd love to tell you the exact spot, but you know I cant do that!

I will tell that the Ausauble State forest is a great hunting area. I would recommend checking out an area called the Old Truck Trail and the Flowing Well off of I75 by Alger. Its not that far from where I hunt. We used to hunt up there. If I were you, I would find some state land up there in an area and apply for a doe permit now this week for public. They are giving out a ton up there this year.

Thats fine never heard of it, I wonder if we may be close in the up north area, but ducks and geese come first, then deers.

I hunt In Arenac too at our cottage. Close to Saginaw bay area off US-23. Lots of deer there. Dont tell anyone though!

Chef If I can i'll get you out and get you a deer this year. All depends on farmer. Will keep you updated.

I've pulled the bow out at least twice a week for last couple of weeks and i'm sure i'll pick up pace by the time september rolls around. I can't freakin WAIT to get my fat a$$ in a stand. I just got my bow restrung and a dozen new arrows too. Gotta get a set of broadheads too tho. I lost one last year so I got two, with 3 more it would work out for my 5 arrow quiver I finger.

Where'd you get your bow restrung Nitro?
