AQUAFEST is here!!!!

NMMA's Annual summer festival begins to unfold this evening with the Nautical Nibble Tastfest, along with Thursday evening's Car Cruise Nite and into Friday's and Saturday's Casino Nights.

Unfortunately, the Great Cardboard Boat Regatta had to be canceled.
The Macomb County Health Department advised the high Ecoli Count made it unsafe for the Regatta to continue at the Blossom Heath Waterfront Beach.

The disappointment of canceling this extremely popular annual event is enormous to long-time coordinator Dan Hall, Colony Marine, the largest number of participants ever, the thousands of spectators and NMMA!

Because of the Regatta's popularity, we learned Friday that Dan Zacharek, Producer for channel 7, wanted to coordinate a series of live shoots of the event for the morning show. What can I say, we must , move on! We must look at the positive picture!


Cash Casino Nights - Volenteers are Needed...

The Cash Casino Night has grown into two evenings along with cash provided to lucky participants. Chairing again, Jean Russo, A Touch of Fruit, advises the third annual event, is Friday and Saturday, 8pm - midnight at the Kolping Banquet Center,

24409 Jefferson between 9 & 10 Mile Road.

Admission is only $5.00. The Cash Casino Nights support the Wigs 4 Kids charity as well as a fundraiser for NMMA.


Cruise Nite..

Cruise Nite will be introducing the four day events Thursday 6-9pm.

Thanks to chairman Rob Schoenmann and his committee, a huge array of cars and hundreds of specators will fill the Mile. Rob (586) 796-6014

Four NMMA Restaurants and Evening Entertainment..

The NMMA restaurants supporting these events - Andiamo, Beach Grill, Fishbone's and Waves ahve fun packed Friday and Saturday evenings with live band entertainment. Please Check the NMMA website for their specific entertainment.

SCS Lakeside Palette Club in Wahby Park...

Fortunately for us, again, the Palette club has accepted our invitation to paint in the beautiful Wahby Park in front of the Blossom Heath Inn Saturday and Sunday,
10am - 3pm

Rubello's Annual Watermelon Eating Contest...

Councilman Dave Rubello will conduct his third annual watermelon eating contest Sunday, 1pm in Mastro's Ice Cream parking lot.

Manzella's Fruit Market of St. Clair shores is donating over 30 melons for this fun event. NMMA merchnts will be providing the prizes. Dave (586) 489-8117

Overnight Boat Wells...

NMMA marinas Emerald City, Harbor 9, Jefferson Beach and Miller are providing over night boat wells for the weekend. The marinas are being extensively promoted on the radio and in newsprint.

Radio promotion began on Sunday throughout Southeast Michigan.

Thousands of dollars have been provided by the NMMA restaurants Andiamo, Beach Grill, Fishbones, and Waves for radio promotion and advertising in Real Detroit, C&G Publications and The Macomb Daily.
