I'm not doing the atkins......but have cut way back on carbs......and my food intake.....My biggest battle is I absolutely love ice cream...haven't had any in 3 weeks. Been eating the Atkin bars for breakfast though....they are chocolate
I don't have time to eat in the morning (get up @ 5:30) and usually don't get to eat until late morning...the bars seem to hold me over along with the quart of water I drink
(lots of peeing <_< )

Good luck to everybody no matter what their battle

CBJ managed to actually stick through it while on vacation. The diet is amazing. I cook him an omlette with
cheese, mushrooms, onions and green pepper for breakfast (or once in FL he had steak and eggs) he stuck with chicken, seafood or steak for lunch and dinner. He did cheat though once, had a spoon of Chloe's custard icecream- but he deserved it. I think he actually broke a record for the first time someone actually lost weight on vacation. Good luck to all of you!

They make low carb ice cream. Bryers makes one. Its only 4 grams net carbs for one serving (half cup). To be honest, it's really good. I recommend it. I have been on it for 2 weeks now.... the results have not been earth shattering, but I think I'm getting somewhere.... I hope.

Yes I still am Sue! Like puppetshow, I fell off the wagon (slightly) but have been eating great, no carbs, no caffeine, NO SMOKING, and working out like a MOFO every single day. My bod is buttoning up nicely, but WTF with the scale - 3 weeks and 6lbs overall - I'm ready to throw that thing out the window

anyways...2004 is all about ME and that makes me feel great!! A better, healthier me inside and out is already started and I believe that more than a resolution, it is a lifestyle change for the better spiritually, physically, and emotionally

15 lbs is fantastic sue - don't ya just LOVE how your pance are baggy on you and how you look?? I am so proud of you, and I bet Jimmy is too!!! And at the rate you're going, we'll have room to put 20 of you on your platform it's so damn big

keep up the good work!!!!

ps: Feel the need to mention again that I am STILL NOT SMOKING!!

I dropped 40 lbs about 2 years ago. I eat a modified diet. I eat whole grain products, no white rice, white flour, white sugar.... Cheat every once in a while, but it makes me feel like crap. I ride about 2500 miles a year, and ride on a trainer in the winter...
I started by doing the no carb deal for about a year, and then slowly added in the "good" carbs. Don't think I'd ever go back to that way of eating...
Good luck everyone, but be careful: Being healthy can become more addictive than all the unhealthy stuff...
By the way Shandog, I quit smoking at the same time as well... Congrats!

Im not exagerating at all. Mybe my body works diffrent then yours how ever. Heres my story.

#1. The 1rst week is a living hell. I was dreaming about food and had strange cravings. Headaches and a few disey spells.

#2. Then at the end of the first week a switch flipped from hell to heaven. My cravings have completly gone away and Im never hungry. Sometimes Ill have a omlet for breakfast and I forget to eat or run some errons and bammo its like 5 or 6 at night and all Ive had was a omlet. I have to be reminded to eat lunch cuz I dont get hungry.

#3. HEY I ACTUALLY LOST 3 LBS ON VACTAION AND DRANK CAPTAINS AND DIET COKE EVERY NIGHT.

I have nothing but good things to say about this diet. Ive struggled with weight gain ever since I turned 19 or 20. Up and Down, up and down. Then a 5 years went buy with no weight loss only weight gain. Well anywhooo this diet is a dream come true.

Thank you Pandora and Pegleg for turning me on to it.

I have been on it since Jan 9th (2 weeks and 2 days) and lost 15 lbs and tons of inches. I feel better than I've felt in years! More energy and I am very happy. I also go to the gym 5 days a week and do weight training and cardio (thanks to my wonderful hubby fatcat). There is an atkins website www.atkins.com that has great recipes, shopping lists, support and all kinds of cool stuff to help you through. I personally joined ediets which has alot of features and support as well. I'm turning the big 40 this year and plan on bringing it in in the best shape of my life! Keep up the great work everyone and if you fall off............just get back on! With results like these, who wants to fall off anyway? No better feeling than baggy pants!

alright you lucky mega weight losers - post one or two typical days's food intake - literally what you eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner right down to the accompaniments you put in your cup of joe (whether it's skim, low fat creamer, real creamer, 1/2 and 1/2, sugar substitute, etc)

I only lost a little over 6 lbs
I tried the s beach diet but there was some funky $hit on it like that I would NEVER eat so I switched to the mayo grapefruit diet which is like atkins but you eat 1/2 of a grapefruit with every meal and no snacks and can eat as much meat and veggies as you want. I too am not craving sweets anymore and am not hungry, I just must not be combining the right schtuff together to burn the excess. Maybe I'm building muscle too - who knows

post a meal plan please - thx!
