Just wondering. Sometimes it is so hard to find something so simple. And please do not suggest Applebees or Ruby Tuesday (YUCK!!)

But this time of year Frit's in MC, or the Raft if you're on that side of the lake.

1. Millers in Dearborn Cheeseburger
2. Double Double from In-N-Out (not around here though)
3. Five Guys Cheeseburger
4. Madison from Browns
5. Frisco Melt from Steak and Shake
6. Cheddar Butter Burger from Culvers
7. Big Jack Burger from Bronx Burgers in Warren (14 and Mound)
8. Bonzai from Red Robin
9. Triple Cheese from Fuddruckers
10. Bellybuster Jr from Brayz in Hazel Park

And yes I have had Red Coat which everyone raves about (usually there or Millers wins best burger in Detroit). It was good - but not worthy!!!

Absolute best burger ever is at Redcoat Tavern on Woodward... but that's not "local" so not sure if that counts - but it has a special garlic mayonnaise and you can get zip sauce on it and it's like you died and went to heaven! Where is Frit's in MC, not familiar with that?

Red Robin, Fuddrickers, Steak n Shake BETTER than Redcoat?
I respectfully disagree with any of those on your list (haven't had a few of them personally) being better and it being not worthy of your list!

Absolutely without a doubt better. I was very disappointed in Red Coat after all of the raves I have heard. It was not bad - but what I listed is better. Red Coat is not even in the same league as Millers.

Wow well I have to try that one, cuz' I love a good burger! I've not been disappointed at Redcoat, but it is a bit of a drive... lol What's Bronx Burgers in Warren - bar, fast food?

Oh and when are you gonna post some more motivational posters PD - you find the best ones, crack me up every time!?

The Madison burger is good, but it's pretty hit and miss too. I've had some undercooked ones with more than their fair share of grease. I've also had some really damn good ones. I think I only had one this summer though - I did have the turkey bomb a couple of times and it was pretty good.

For best burger, it really depends on what you're looking for. Most bars can kick out a damn good burger. Five Guys is pretty damn good too. I think Telway burgers are some of the best out there, you just have to get 2 or 3 at a time.

Maybe you need categories:

Best bar burger -
Best burger on the lake -
Best slider - Telway
Best fast food burger - Five Guys

Personally, I think the "best bar burger" category is totally subjective - the best one is the one that comes with a cold beer when I'm in the mood for a beer and a burger. For the sliders and fast food burgers, though, I think I have it nailed.

I've never been to some of the places mentioned, but I like Madison's, The Sentimental Lady, Jacks, Cloverleaf, Skinny's, Black Finn, Red Coat, and out in Romeo Youngers.

Bronx Burgers is a sit down family type restaurant. They MAY have beer, I do not remember for sure though.

I do plan on trying Redcoat again - maybe they had an off day. Last time I was there I didnt even get a burger!!

I see new posters all the time but I forget what has been posted in that thread so I gave up!!!

Totally agree!!!

Except the Telway part. You talking about the one in Madison Heights?? Something about the bun they use - too doughy or something. Brayz is much better and close to there.
