Try Allied Cycle on Gratiot in Eastpointe. I'm not sure if they sell Trek but they do carry a number of good brands. I bought my Univega there. Great service too.

QUOTE(Nitro225Optimax @ Jul 21 2009, 08:24 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Check out www.mmba.org for great bike and bike shop recommendations.

You might find a great gently used bike also.

American Cycle and Fitness is the largest Trek Dealer with several sites throughout SE Michigan, but I prefer a Giant and purchased mine at KLM in Rochester.

+1 for KLM. We bought Raleighs there years ago. I used to work with the owner's (Frank) wife. Didn't try to "oversell" us on something we didn't want or need. Went back a couple years later and bought a treadmill from them.

Yeah. KLM was the first shop to actually explain the component differences to me of the different levels of bikes. They also were happy to show me any bike I wanted to see. They were friendly, understanding, and asked me questions to put me on the right bike. I ended up buying a Giant Trance X2 Full Suspension for nearly $2k. Service has been great since as well.

For the record, they still carry entry level bikes in the few hundred dollar range. Any of which is far better than a huffy. Dont even get me started on huffy's, I'd probably offend someone...lol.

I bought a Huffy new 10 years ago for $100 and still ride it every day!!!

I know there is no comparison, but for my purposes it has served me quite well. I would never trust it on a trail though.

I AM looking for a $10-20 cheap Huffy style bike to keep at the marina if anyone has one laying around collecting dust...
