Don't know anything about the bottom line, but the most important things about a fishing sonar are "target seperation", "screen resolution" and "power" (not peak to peak). There are comparison sites on the web where you can compare different units in some or all of these categories.

I've heard good things about bottom line, but don't know how they stack up against the more common Lowrance and Garmin units.
