How would you feel if you got home after making a run to the beer store for a case of beer, opened the case, and found only 23 beers? What if you found out this was not just a mistake, but that it was a deliberate attempt to cheat you out of that 24th beer?

Ladies and gentlemen, this in effect is what Labatt is doing. After having a couple of Labatt Blue after the Wings game last night I was shocked to discover that Labatt is only putting 11.5 oz. of beer in their bottles. I was under the assumption that the standard can or bottle of beer was 12 oz. After checking other beers (Miller, Busch, Budweiser), my assumption was confirmed, they all had 12 oz.

Those crafty Canadians are ripping us off. With that 1/2 oz. less, they are only giving you 23 beers for every 24 you purchase. I'm not sure if this is true for cans, I only checked bottles. I also thought that maybe this was just a bar deal, that they had some special pricing in these beers, but the Labatt I had at home also were 11.5 oz. (I wonder if they are also ripping off their own citizens, or if they get the full 12 oz. and only the Americans are being hood-winked?)

I am urging all good red-blooded Americans, and all (what ever color blood they have) Canadians to STOP drinking Labatt products until this problematic situation is resolved. If they are allowed to get away with this just thing of the consequenses. We may soon be drinking pansy-a$$ 6 oz. cans of beer. Take a lesson from the Germans, beer should come in LITER volumes, (1/2 litre for the girly-men and ladies).

I will no longer be ripped off by Labatt. I have found my life work. I will make a positive change in this world or protest 'til the day I die.

It's been that way for a long time. They make up for it in taste.

My Molson Bradors are 341 mL, which also come out to 11.53 oz.

This has actally been a very serious topic in England, where legislation was passed requiring taverns to pour full imperial pints (many had been short or topped with foam). The way I look at it, it only costs me approx $.25 to make a 12 oz glass of homebrew, and it probably costs the major breweries about $.10 including all misc costs (bottling, advertising, wages, etc). So anytime you buy a beer you're getting screwed, it's just a matter of to what degree.

I've known about this for years, but never really cared because it still tastes better than Miller or Budweiser.

Maybe it helps make up the cost of importing it.

What is the alcohol content for canadian beer compared to the content of american beer? Do you think that there are regulations? Or is it possible that maybe there are different regulations for amount in Canada?

I sense a bit of anal-retentaiveness or obsessive-compulsive behavior from that pic. ALL THE LABELS ARE FACING THE SAME WAY AND THEY ARE ARRANGED SO CAREFULLY!!!

I'm talking standard beer bottle numb-nutz. Not Fosters Oil Can, not microbrews in half litre bottles, not Guiness in a pint can, just your standard beer bottle.

Michelob Ultra uses a smaller bottle/can so they can say they have less carbs PER SERVING than any other beer.

Michelob Ultra is pussy beer, plain and simple. You might as well drink my piss after I have a few beers, cause it probably will be stronger, has less carbs, and probably will taste better.

Doesn't matter. The casino probably ripped off the rest of those nickels from you anyways, right?

Well I for once totally agree with Snowmaker on this subject... I'd rather drink 11.5 oz. Bottles of the golden nector of the god's known as Labatt Blue, than drink 12 oz. bottles of the recycled toilet water known as Budwieser...

P.S. I checked the cans and they are 12 ozs. Also more great news! Molson Canadien Bottles are 12 ozs! Plus they have the added entertainment value of the Molson twin labels!

Just did a bit of "research". This is just a LABATT conspiricy.

Went to local beer store, results of my standard bottle survey:

Sapparo - JAPAN - 12 oz.
St. Pauli Girls - GERMANY - 12 oz.
Grolsch - HOLLAND - 12 oz.
Corona - MEXICO - 12 oz.
Fosters - AUSTRAILIA - 12 oz.

AND THE KICKER:

Molson - CANADA - 12 oz.

The only one doing it is LABATT, those $%@#$er's.

This is truly something that should be reported to the government, or at the very least the Fox 2 problem solvers!
