Working on tackle and fishing equipment takes the edge off, but when your done cabin fever is worse.
Going outside to practice cast is fun, but it makes cabin fever worse.

Seriously this helps, when you get home from work. Booze it up a bit, then grab your BB gun, open your back window/doorwall and shoot at the neighbors dog, or the neighbor. If you have a really really fat neighbor it makes it more fun.
If the wife complains about this,,,,
well, just shoot her in the foot and threaten to do weird things to her mother in her sleep. Its best to apply this method of marital voo doo right b4 your wife goes to sleep.

When my wife said hey what are you doing with that BB gun I shot her in the foot CBJ. Well she did some kind of Kung Fu move on me, took my booze, smacked me up side the head. Grounded me, now CABIN FEVER is worse. lol

Come on! Tough-it-up guys. Right now, out on the pond, people are catching, well, maybe not me, but some people are catching walleye, pike up to 20 lbs., jumbo yellowbellies, bluegills and, yes Mini, even crappies.
Just slap on a good set of long johns, 1 or 2 pairs of heavy wool socks, a comfortable pair of jeans, maybe a light turtleneck under a heavy flannel shirt. Over all that a good pair of insulated overalls or snowmobile bibs, a pair of Pack boots, an insulated hooded sweatshirt, heavy stocking cap, Thinsulate gloves and a good down or poly insulated parka (damn, I'm tired already). DON'T FORGET THE PFD AND ICE AWLS. On the real cold days add a face mask, toe warmers to keep the tootsies toasty and pocket warmers for the hands, or drag the portable shanty out.
There's usally some way to beat the elements.

I don't remember where I heard this, but, there's an old Scottish saying that goes, "There's no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes."

The cure for cabin fever?

Do It On The Ice!

there is no known cure for cabin fever.

cabin fever is much like the common cold. there are plenty of remedies to ease the suffering, but as far as a cure goes, nothing.

spring will be here soon.

Now`s a good time to take the kids fishing. Let them do all the lugging and spuding. LOL. Seriously though, kids love to ice fish and if you can get into a school of even the small ones it makes them anglers for life.

I just looked outside, it doesnt look like a home stretch to me!

How ever on the bright side.

At the end of March you can bet Ill be pushing the ice out of the way at the boat launch.
