Thinking of trying to fish for some cats. Never done it any tips and locations for this. I here dark is good time is that true? As well as I always here about in front of the spillway over on Jefferson!

They are everywhere....although I didnt catch one at all this year. When Alex and I helped the DNR pull nets last year I was amazed at how many catfish were in them!

I would try the mouth of the spillway, the clinton and black creeks at dusk....use STINKY baits!

My father-in-law and I pulled out a couple of 10 pounders (channel cats) tonight at dusk and just after out in the dumping grounds. We were using crappie rigs with baby crawlers on the bottom hook and shiners on the uppers. We also managed 3 Walleye (17", 18" and 21") and 14 perch. In one crazy stretch, we each had sheephead on constantly for about 1 hour. The afternoon was slow, but it picked up after 5. Back to the cats, we get a lot of them out there after dark trying for Eyes. Good luck!
