Between Macomb and St. Clair counties there are over 50,000 boat registrations.

If every boat owner gave $15 to buy a t-shirt? You could wear it with pride and see the lights stand for another 150 years, for sure.

Not sure if I'll be around that long. But I did purchase a t-shirt. I also use the soscl coffee cups every morning.

And in the logo could you make the smaller tower's light blink...........kidding...... I argue with Captain Dan because the one tower's light blinks and he says it ABSOLUTELY does not. He is SO wrong!! That's how Donna and I found Gull Island one night at like midnight! But sometimes I think he's just saying that to make me mad - I think he knows one of the lights work! But it's an ongoing battle every summer.

Yes, there is a solar powered white light that flashes every four seconds. It was supplied by the Coast Gaurd and maintanied by them.

Really helps out there doesn't it?

Bill, I have to find a new place to live but i have a thought. Can I buy one of the lights and then take out a home equity loan to fix up my new place? This way i can live in a cool place and save one of the lights at the same time. Thinik of all the good that could be done.

As soon as we get the old keepers house done, we will looking for people who want to stay out there. So, keep your fingers crossed. But, I gotta tell you........I get first dibs on the best boat well!

Hey everyone don't forget SOSCL memberships. They are VERY inexpensive!! You get a nice video and membership card. Heck, why bother sending it in every year.....be a rockstar and buy the lifetime.
