There are a ton of good lakes right near there....here are a few

Maceday-Lotus.....doing good on trout and crappie
Deer Lake.....crappie
Big Fish Lake.....pike, a few walleye
Pontiac Lake.....crappie, pike, catfish
Lake Oakland.....pike
Clarkston Mill Pond.....pike and gills

for you i will tell you my best wally spot. you go down sixth street until you see the 5th mud hole on the north side of the road. Use a spud. Lure/bait is a pink teardrop with a walleye minnow. When you hear a horn blow ypu will no you are about to get a hit. LOL

Couple of questions for ya Ninja about Lotus-Maceday.I am headed out there in the next few weeks.Where would be a good place to start,what type of lures,bait,just lookin to catch fish?

Rob I live in Clarkston, I'll put together a few holes. Have him pm me when he wants to go out i'll hook him up. Deer Lake has some Big pike, I got a couple close spots for pan fish. No 17" crappie down here though.
