Clear waters and not much else.

At Harsens Island right now. The waters are clear... but nothings in them! Major bummer... Trying to fish at San Souci. Don't know if I'm too early, too late, or just in the wrong spot.

Tom is correct on the usual time they come in to Harsens. That water is normally cleaner in that area with all of the filtration from the marsh areas. Better luck your next time out. Don't give up on that area.

Yeah, those waters are gorgeous. Just have to find a spot that'll be more active next Sunday. Would the Clinton River work for offshore?
Try selfridge about 200 yards out and work your way to the bank...you'll find em pre spawn

I know the perch should be coming into the Clinton River any day now. I thought they would have been in by now, but I had no luck in there yesterday for the perch. As far as the eyes go, I think the lake side of the panninsula at the Harley Ensign DNR site would produce more eyes and bass than the river side as per my experiences at that particular site. I do not know what goes on in the rest of the river as I only fish the mouth of that river.

I do know they get eyes in the spillway which is south of the Metro Park. There is public parking and fishing on the spillway right off of Jefferson, about a mile south of the Metro Park entrance also on Jefferson. Also pike, perch, bass, cats and muskie in the spillway.

I usually catch them here Tom and out from Metro Beach about the same distance out as well, using the same method at both places. My method is dragging meat on a harness with a bottom bouncer, 1-1/2 to 2 oz. Many guys use a variety of artificial baits instead of a crawler harness. (y)

Alright, so that's at the mouth where it feeds into the lake. I'll have to try one of those spots next week Sunday morning, then.

You got the right area. Good shore fishing location at the Harley Ensign launch site. Can fish the river side of the penninsula there or the lake side. Your choice. (y)
