I say it is a Coho, she says Steelhead. So I ask for more opinions.

Well shoot now I am going to have to tell her she is once again right. Thanks for confirming.

It was 9.3 pounds caught on a black and purple spoon right outside the Frankfort piers, in 85 feet of water.

The following night I caught this King using the same colors. 8.5 pound and 27 inches.

I didn't get a chance to measure the first one, I was too busy resetting lines. It was just a little longer then the King.

Salmon tails have a deeper fork than steelhead. Also, the lateral line and dorsal to ventral color transition are more pronounced than what you would see in a open water coho.
