We spent Memorial weekend docked practically next to the tower. My wife's aunt and uncle live on a canal in Algonac, right next to the tower.

We went dhingying past it and checked it out. They are in the sanding and priming stage. It's about half painted with grey primer right now.

I've driven by the tower over the years but never reallt knew the history of it. Anyone care to share the history behind the tower?

Yes an old water tower...just like the one in Downtown New Baltimore.

They have been working on the inside for about a year now! Glad to see it stay!!!! Some of you might remember the Pic I took of three years ago when an awesome storm came through! I will post it later!

Remember it going by as a kid.

Campari's Mom and Dad Live right behind it! It would be awesome to see that everyday. Almost as good as living right by the Old channel Lights....Wonder who lives by there!

My Bass player, Dan Wilcox, lived in the gate-house next to the tower for years. We used to get inside and climb all the way up to the top. Pop open a little door and go out on the railing.

It was a water tower that fed the Colony Drive homes.
Way back in it's infantcy, there were horses kept inside that used to work the golf course accross the street (now St. Johns Marsh).
It was built in 1925
As of this morning, it's 2/3 painted white.

Spur, that's a funny story! And definitely right on with the facts. I never knew that about the horses, although I read about the golf course.

Instigator you took that pic in the empty lot across from my folks. Shoulda stopped in for a beer witht hem. Ask Gary, they're always accomodating to my silly-a$$ friends!

The Colony Association sold the tower to the township for a buck and finally it's getting some respect!

We keep our boat right there in the shadow of the tower. Good to see it getting a nice facelift. Anyone in the area feel free to hail us on the VHF on 69. If you're around the area by boat. We love visitors and always have cold beer.
