Decided not to fight the wind on the lake yesterday and hit Compass Pointe instead. Judging by some of the reports, I think we made the right choice. 4 of us fished from 8:00 - 1:00 I got a mixed bag of gills. pumkiseeds and a couple crappie - 25 in all + 8 perch. The other guys all got between 15 & 20 keepers. Fishing was slow but steady the whole time. Most of my perch came on minnows and the gills seemed to like waxworms better than spikes. Some fo the gills we got were really nice. I probably threw back 2x the number I kept.

There were a few other guys out there and everyone seemed to have fish. Some guys were moving around but I stayed in the same holes all morning and did better than any of my buddies. You just had to be patient and keep moving the bait up and down in the water column. I was in about 5 ft. of water and there is at least 12" of ice. I started working my bait just below the ice and slowly lowering it to the bottom. Some of my better fish hit just below the ice.
