Seriously, with the number of complaints I get regarding questionable avatars or the flak some people take regarding their opinions on the board I'm suprised no one has complained about this blatent support and encouragement of complete alcohol abuse.
Sure a lot of us drink, probably some of us too much, and some of us have done some stupid things when we were drunk. Some of us are dealing with drinking and driving violations as a result of our drinking. AJU got lucky last night. A drinking and driving arrest will screw up your life big time, money, time, work, etc. And let's not forget that just getting caught is the least harmful thing that may happen, death, injury, property damage are all possible.
On that note, although a lot of money was raised, there are better ways to fund charities than to encourage someone to drink mass quantities of alcohol. I don't think that's the message that the LSCN is trying to promote.
How would everyone feel today if CBJ did suffer alcohol poisoning? On November 4, 1998 a dude named Brad from Michigan State died while celebrating his 21st birthday at Ricks. He was just out to have fun. Brads Story
There can be serious consequences to large quantities of alcohol consumption. Alcohol Poisoning
I know I probably will get crap for being a party pooper and some people will harbor resentment that I posted this, but think about it and ask yourself it it really makes sense. CBJ is a great person to have around and it would suck if something would happen to him (or anyone else on the board) as a result of encouragement of alcohol abuse. I'm actually suprised the bar/waitress went along with it, with liability and all.
Everyone keep safe and party responsibly!!!
