Ive got a random question for you Rick...What is worse to have to fix; fiberglass damage like Wahoooo had or lower unit trouble like you had? I walked through the pits after the race last Sunday and couldnt decide which damage sucked more...

I have both.. the boat landed on an angle putting a crap load of pressure on the port side ripping the lower apart and the transom.

So instead of just patching it together to race this weekend and most likely breaking it worse and god forbid spinning or flipping because of it. I'll take some time off and strip the boat and fix it right.

It sucks missing a race but it would suck worse tearing the back of the boat off and losing an engine, or rolling the boat in a 85mph turn killing Scott or Myself.

in my opinion, for a non race boat, fiberglass sucks more if you dont have big shop to work in and gotta do it out side on the driveway, If all I had was a blown motor i coulda had my boat back in the water two years ago. mechanical stuff is easy, doing stringers suck plus there lots to learn about how boats are built and how cheap the factory made 'em and how to reinforce with out adding weight.
