With all the Holiday parties coming up and just drinking in general I had this crazy idea that maybe we can set up a Designated Driver program for our group?? People can volunteer on any given day/night to be "on call" for any LSCNer's that are too drunk or atleast impaired to drive home they can call whoever is on call that day/night and that wonderful kind person would come and pick you up and take you home or where ever?

I'm not sure of the legal ramifications if any but I thought that it was kind of a cool idea to have our own "LSCN Guardian Angels" The details could be figured out, but we could have a calendar and people could sign up if they want to be "on call" then if someone needed assistance you would have to help. I think MADD has driver assistance nights or something like that? The person needing help would have to at least provide some kind of tip and would be responsible for getting their vehicle back.

Maybe it wouldn't work, but I'm just thinking of ways people can drink and not have to worry as much. .08 comes up awfully quick!! I know I'd volunteer once in awhile....

I'll be on call whenever -- no problem. I have a van for multiple peeps, although last time I had multiple drunk LSCN peeps in my van, they ended up having sex in the far back seat.

I was like WTF!! for a bit-- Eigh, but whatever -- no biggie

I would think getting a list of everyone's number (who was willing to be a dd) together and list of dates they will not be available to drive would be the first thing to do. Just my .02

You have to decide if your going to have one or two people that will have everyone's number and the drunks would call them or should you make a sheet with everyones numbers and hand it out.
I think there should be two or three people that has everyones number and the drunks should call them to arrange a ride. It really don't matter to me. I have posted my number on here many times and I really don't care who has it.
I'm willing to pick anyone up at anytime as long as I'm not at work or already drunk myself.

I think the problem with only one or two having the numbers would be all the people who travel and, of course, them being out drinking. As you stated, it doesn't matter to me who has my number and as long as I'm not drinking or at work I would be willing to drive.
