Hi, my uncle has a 20' Grady White Center console w/ a 150 yamaha outboard. He is trying to get it started. The motor cranks, he is getting gas to the carb, but when he try's to start it, 2 things happen. 1.) it won't fire 2.) He get's a buzzing noise at the dash like it's trying to tell him something. Anyone have any clues? Thanks!

It could be anything. Low oil levels, to missing lanyard for the shutdown. Double check everything until you find the problem. Users manuals usually say what the alarms are or could be.

I agree, if it wont fire, check for a spark. Maybe the kill switch/lanyard is missing or stuck, or corroded.

I have a Yamaha, and on mine if the horn is sounding while trying to start the motor it is the lanyard switch.

Low oil normally will normally not prevent the motor from firing.
