With all the postings about water levels/hitting bottom, I get confused by all the different deths that people are posting. Which brings up my question: Do you set your depth sounder to read from the bottom of your boat, or from the bottom of your outdrive(with outdrive down)?

I set mine for the bottom outdrive(down), which is the worst case scenerio for my boat.

I set mine for having the outdrives down, from the bottom of the lowest part of the prop and then I add about 6 inces for swells and miscalculatons. Figure the hull can always ride some on the bottom without any major damages, props are far less forgiving.
