Dinner Argument

Goose and I were at our usual hangout to have dinner at Gilberts. We sit down and order our food and when it comes and we just start eating we hear this awful conversation at the table next to us!!!
This family was talking at a very loud tone about some pancreotic surgery!! I could not believe what the F##K I was hearing!

We were right in the middle of eating when I heard the guy next to me say somthing like" yeah and then they had to take out part of his spleen, then blood was gushing everywere, his bowls were screwed up etc...
it was so graphic and discusting that I actually couldnt believe what I was hearing! I asked Goose If he was hearing this too and he said yes it was just gross.
So Goose says to the guy " Hey do you guys mind not talking about that while we are eating, unless you want to cover our bill!" That was all he said and then they toned it down a bit so at least we couldn't hear most of it. Well now they are getting ready to leave and one of the guys starts to leave first and under his breath he says to Goose "D#ck wad" I was stunned, Kurt replied"Fat A##, which was wrong but he was , and we were so mad. Then the whole table started calling us A$$whole, and imature, and for us to grow up. Right in the middle of the resturant. I have never had this happen before, needless to say it got out of hand. They finally all started to leave and Goose replied" You know you should have taken your **** wife to the new bar down the steet at scores" She defenetly looked like one.
I feel better now thanks for reading my story.

Yes - I would have definitely said something or had Dave say something.
Nice dinner topics! Have some respect for the people sitting around you~~geesh!

Gilbert's is a pretty cool place, hopefully that won't happen again.

now i don't mind a good crap discussion and love to discuss puss and boogers like everyone else!!!!! , but they were at the table right next to us and we were eating, and it wasn't just a gross comment, the dude was very loud and the story kept going and going and he was into detail about oozing from an infection and open sores and scabs with maggot infestations and gangrene skin falling off and bedsores and fromunda cheeze..........you get the picture

Okay, I know I'm going to take a hit for this one, I know the discussion was really gross but, I think if you would have just politely let them know it was bothering you, instead of telling them they could pay your bill if they countinued it might not have gotten to the name calling part. Some people just don't think about how loud they are and that what they are saying could make someone really sick. Just my .02

The Perfect Fit
The same think happened to us at the Red Lobster by a group of older ladies. They brought up ever graphic story that they could think of about the human body. Finally I just asked them very politely if they wouldn't mind talking about something else while we ate our meal. Believe it or not they just qept right on talking...

And my Dad's girlfriend always starts talking about illness, blood guts and such at everyone of our meals. So, our last family meal she started talking about her son-in-law who died from cancer and getting graphic and I asked very nicely if she would mind waiting until our meal was over and she did but gave me a dirty look...

Goose did what he had to do...

As a regular customer you should have a relationship with the manager.....HE is the one that should have said something.

When my daughter was just learning to talk..My wife and I went out to dinner at our local Rams Horn on Hoover...We were sat at a booth next to four teens... two guys and two girls. Between the four of them every other word was f*&% this and f*&$
that...I thought I handled it nicely by asking them to watch their mouth in front of the baby because she is learning to talk.....But they giggled and continued....Then I talked to the manager,(a young punk type kid himself) his response was that we could move. Well anyone might have picked up and moved but well hell there is alot to move with a little one and coats and everything so I said no and he talked to them
and asked to to watch it. That worked for about five minutes. By this time I am in full aggresser mood...I stood up and walked over to the table and stood there glaring at the big one with the loud mouth.....I think his exact words were what the f*%@ are you gonna do about it....I grabbed him by the hair and slammed his face into his plate and table.....I now had the attention of everybody in the resteraunt.....You could have heard a pin drop on carpeting in there....I again asked him if he would watch his mouth... this time in between tears he nodded yes....As I went to go sitt back down some of the older people sitting near us clapped ....Right after all that they got up and paid their bill but before he left he came to the table...I tought to retailiate so I started to get up....He apoligized loud enough for the whole place to hear....That showed good upbringing.....True Story....

Gosh, and I feel disgusting when I blow my nose at the table (bad sinuses). I try to be discreet.....if I went to the bathroom each time I'd never finish dinner. Just a way of life with me....

What they were doing is wrong...Sounds like it was intentional, too. I would have asked the waitress to move me to another table.

i think i said something sarcastic to him like "so you gonna buy us our dinner after we puke it up from listening to your disgusting story"
