My paycheck gets direct deposited every other thursday. Accounting is having some problems so needless to say my checks haven't been getting direct deposited. So what they do is just give me a regular check and I have to go to the bank to cash/deposit. Well yesterday I got my check and deposited it in my account. No big deal. I checked my account online today to check my balance and realized there is some extra money in there.... saweettt!!! Sure enough the direct deposit did work, but didn't go in the account until today. The nice, honest person I am let accounting know about my "bonus". I should probably kick my @ss, but they would've caught it.

i work part-time for a builder on and off when i want extra dough. One weekend I worked 8 hours, the people in payroll did a type-o and when i got my check it was for 80 hours!!!

I did notify them and exchanged the 80 hour check for an 8 hour check

The extra dough would have been nice....but this way I can still sleep at night!!

You are right, they would have caught the mistake. That happened to me once. I also had an employee who it happened to and they didn't tell. Needless to say we found out and they had spent it. They still had to pay it back.
