Hey there my fishing buddies this is Cory again with this weeks fishing report.
Fishing has been fairly slow, but there are still fish out there to be caught.
First off just to remind everyone of ice conditions to be careful when going out onto the main lake and also in the canals.
Fishing at Metro Beach has been fairly good. Some limits caught here and some 40's caught here. Wigglers and spikes have been the best. Minnows have been slow, but still some caught on them. The best place here has been in the North Marina and then the Black creek on the other side of the main boat launch. Here yellow perch, bluegill, and pumpkinseeds have been caught. In the large basin on the other side of the island there have been smaller fish caught, but is still remaining productive. Over by the jet ski ramp there has been some fish caught, but because of the ice conditions we have not been able to get out further than 100 yards or so.
At the spillway there have been fish caught, but again nothing major. The size here has gone down considerably. At Beacon's Cove Marina and in the Cove there has been some fish caught ranging from 7-10 inches. Large catches and small catches, but that is how it goes.
At 11 mile things have been slow. Not many fish reported here.
At Blossom Heath or(10 mile ramp) there has been quite a few fish caught. Between the gas pumps at Millers and Michigan harbor in the East and West canal has been the best spot for fish. Wigglers again are the most popular of bait.
Ford's cove is slow right now, but hopefully it will pick up.
That is it for now hopefully I get something better to report this week. Stay on the fish and be careful on that ice. Goodluck, Cory
