Hey there fishing buddies this is Cory again with this week's fishing report.
Fishing has been slow, but some good catch's are out there. I have had only one limit in the last week (From Metro) and they were nice fish.
Metro Beach is fishing has been best during the last week. In the north marina fish have been caught on minnows and spikes. The main areas to be are in the North Marina just off of the docks, the boat launch side in Black Creek, and behind the island. Off the jet ski launch fishing has been slow, but the ice is okay.
Further down by the spillway many are fishing out in Beacon's Cove, but not many fish have come in from there. The spillway on the other hand have had lots of fish, but the sizes have dropped considerably. To fish the spillway you need to be on the lake side of the Jefferson bridge. Minnows and spikes are the most common method used.
At 11 mile perch have been caught out in the marina and in the main canal adjacent to the marina. Here people are using minnows and wigglers.
At 10 mile in Miller's Marine and Michigan Harbor the fishing has slowed considerably. The fish that are being caught are in Miller's third canal over from Blossom Heath. Minnows and wigglers are working well for those.
Fishing is slow as of right now, but remember the fish are there and they are waiting to be caught. Continue to watch the ice conditions as it becomes windier and the snow falls. Goodluck everyone and hope you start catching the fish that you are working for. Cory
